Flower Delivery to Llanfaglan with Clare Florist
Located on the north-west portion of Wales, Llanfaglan is a medieval parish bordered by the parish of Llanbeblig, Caernafron on the shore of the Menai Strait and Traeth y Foryd. It forms part of the county of Gwynedd.
Baglan's Well
There was once a well called Ffynnon Faglan or Baglan's Well in an open field next to the church. It was destroyed in 2011, but before its destruction, it was said to be a holy place of St Baglan yg Coet Alun, and the construction of the well was attributed to him.
It is said that the water in the well had healing powers. The afflicted part of a person would be bathed and a pin would be dropped into the well. It is also said that warts were cured using water from the well. After the warts were washed, a pin would be used to prick them and that pin would be thrown into the well.
Landmarks & Attractions
· St Baglan's – owned by the Friends of Friendless Churches and stands alone in the middle of a field. It was discovered in 2005 that the church and the older part of the cemetery were part of a pentagonal enclosure, the only one of its kind known in Europe.
The church usually opens during European Heritage Open Door Weekends which takes place during September weekends. During this occasion, a local historian provides visitors with information on the history of the church in the Welsh or English language.
