Flower Delivery to Warminghurst – A Small Village in the Horsham District of West Sussex

The village of Warminghurst is located 2.4 miles north-east of of Storrington, a large village that lies at the foot of the north side of the South Downs. Warminghurst lies on the Ashington to Heath common road and has a Grade I-listed structure, the 13th-century Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

HISTORY

Warminghurst Manor was sold by Henry Bigland in 1676 to William Penn. It was in this house that the Penn family held secret monthly Quaker meetings from the Horsham district. Penn left for America in 1682 and he asked a lot of the Quakers to join him. The house was sold to James Butler in 1707 but he demolished it and build a new one. That house was also demolished in 1806 by the Duke of Norfolk.

Today, only the large barn and farm buildings survive and are located behind Park Lane. These structures are more connected to the early 18th-century mansion built by James Butler.
